Heart words are high-frequency words that are not very decodable. Because they are tricky, heart words are words students must learn “by heart”. This resource includes worksheets for all 33 heart words included in the list of third grade Dolch Sight Words. Each word is categorized as a permanent heart word, permanent with temporary letters, or temporary heart word. There are three worksheets for each heart word. They are as follows:   Worksheet 1: Introduce the Heart Word Use this worksheet to introduce new sight words.
